Vera Boele-Keimer studied Fine Art at the Academy of Art in Münster, Germany. She lived and worked in Berlin before moving to Bristol in 2004.

Her work blurs the boundaries between drawing, sculpture and painting. In 2015 she exhibited in New York and Norway and regularly has pieces included in exhibitions at the Royal Academy, London and Royal West of England Academy, Bristol.

In 2006 she was awarded a residency at the Nelimarkka Museum in Finland, funded by Arts Council England. A large plant drawing she produced during this residency was shortlisted for the Jerwood Drawing Prize in 2007.
