Elaine lives in Bristol and has been painting professionally since she graduated from Loughborough University in 1998. Her work can be seen exhibited throughout the UK as well as Ireland and Holland. Some of her galleries include Innocent fine art Bristol, The Fairfax gallery London, and Cherry lane fine art Dublin.
Elaine's paintings are indirectly inspired by her surroundings and are usually evocative of landscapes and seascapes, be it a Mediterranean coastline, Cornish bay or a Bristol skyline. These are often abstracted into simple horizontal or vertical compositions. Initially these works are investigations into colour theory, hereby subtle tones combine with sharp colour complimentaries and oppositions. By placing an element of control alongside the accidental Elaine allows geometrically straight lines to play with splashes of colour, poured paint and loose brushwork.
